Will it freeride? Obviously. Will it also grip? Heck yes! Clayton Arthurs is one of the most versatile members of the Landyachtz team and he wanted his pro board to be able to make the switch from race track to slide jam just as comfortably as he can. The Blaze is designed to be equally effective with small slalom trucks on it for tons of grip, or with 155mm symmetrical trucks and freeride wheels for huge standup slides.

L: 34" | W: 9" | WB: 20"~23.7"

The Blaze is a directional downhill/freeride board measuring 34 inches long by 9 inches wide with tons of wheelbase options from 20-23.7 inches. Made at our Kimberley, BC factory out of a mix of 100% Canadian Maple sandwiched with Fiberglass for extra stiffness, this board is designed for comfort and confidence no matter what you throw at it. The extensive wheelbase options let you tune the handling exactly to your tastes while the small radial front drop and straight rear drop give you all the reference points you need to push your riding to the next level. The complete comes set up just how Clayton likes it, with 40 degree 155mm Gen 6 Grizzlies and some super slidy 63mm Easy Hawgs wheels.

FLEX RATING

So, what’s flex and why is it important to a skateboard? In skate-nerd terms, flex is the amount of displacement a deck sees when a specific amount of force is applied to it. Check out our formula to the left! There are a few factors that affect flex, like deck thickness, wheelbase, and the amount of force on a deck. We built a machine and put our entire lineup to the test by applying the exact same amount of force to all our boards and measured the displacement we saw in each. This gives a totally scientific and accurate flex range across our entire line! It’s important to understand flex when choosing a board. Here are some basics: Downhill/freeride skateboards will have less flex because you need a stiff platform to stand on when you’re bombing or gripping a corner at speed. Carving skateboards will have more flex, giving you the ability to sink into your turns and pump or carve with ease. Most cruisers, dance and ATV boards will have less flex for control when doing tricks but just enough to be forgiving when pushing around town. We’ve engineered our boards with the best flex for each style of riding but remember, flex is subjective so get out a see what you like the most!

We design our trucks and wheels to fit perfectly with each individual deck.

We work tirelessly to ensure these elements come together to provide the best control and performance for your board.

No slop, all control. Don’t accept anything less than the perfect complete.

Brand Story

Founded in 1997 in the basement of the Blackcomb Ski Club cabin by Tom Edstrand and Mike Perreten to provide a better way to get around campus, Landyachtz is a global leader in skateboard design and development. We believe in making quality skateboards that will improve your life. What started in a small basement has now grown to include a warehouse/head office in the East Vancouver neighbourhood of Strathcona with a retail store around the corner along a main bike route at 1146 Union St, shipping facilities in both East Vancouver and Los Angeles, and a small manufacturing facility in the Kootenay town of Kimberley, B.C. Today, Landyachtz has a global presence and has built strong relationships with important partners all over the world.

Landyachtz has always been focused on quality product innovation. Designing the best boards possible and developing the technology to do so has always been our focus. With co-founder Tom Edstrand being 2005 world champion, racing heavily influenced our early board designs and provided a great way for us to test new technologies. Landyachtz pioneered the drop foot platform, a design that remained synonymous with downhill for many years. The most famous drop-style downhill board in our lineup, the Evo, still holds the record for most world championship wins today. Boards aren't the only thing we developed though, Bear Trucks and Hawgs Wheels grew out of a need to pair our race decks with the best trucks and wheels we could. That's what our in-house engineers still do every day, constantly trying to refine our trucks and wheels so that they can be the best the industry can offer. As we developed technology for our race boards, we took what we learned there and applied it to the rest of our lineup to make our everyday boards as stable, fun, and functional as we could.
Community involvement has always been a core principle for us here at Landyachtz, our early years wouldn't have been possible without the Coast Longboarding community and its members. It's for this reason that we try to help grow communities everywhere we can. We've sponsored events around the globe, from races in Europe, to events in our own backyard like the legendary Attack of Danger Bay, and Giant's Head Freeride here in B.C.
