OVER 20 YEARS OF ZERO SKATEBOARDS - FROM UNDERDOG TO CORE BRAND

“When I started Zero, besides Toy Machine and a few other brands, skateboarding was pretty boring.”

- Jamie Thomas (Solo Skate Mag)

As he escaped the outback of Alabama, the young Jamie Thomas went to sunny California to become a rider for Ed Templeton's brand Toy Machine. Shortly afterwards he established a reputation for producing “Welcome To Hell”. But in his eyes, the brands at that time were a little bit too round around the edges. He wanted a label that was powerful and raw, just like his way of skateboarding - thus Zero was born. At the beginning, there were only t-shirts and sweatshirts that expressed his underdog mentality. Later, decks followed with Thomas as the first pro on Zero.

In 1997, Zero set a milestone in street skating with the video “Thrill Of It All”. At that time, massive handrails and giant stair sets were believed to be almost invincible but we were taught better. Two years later, “Misled Youth” dropped like a bomb and since then Zero Skateboards is a solid part of the scene.

After seven more videos and three consecutive won “Thrasher Magazine - King of the Road” titles, everybody should know that Zero is one of those brands that represents skateboarding in its original form: authentic, blunt and without knick-knack.
